Headsets

I have/had a Plantronics DSP 50o USB headset that worked for oveer 10 years.
The other night the left channel quit working. If I twisted the cable it would come back on but only randomly. A buddy at work said he might be able to fix them but it looks like that won't be the case.

What do you guys use? Who has a USB headset? What kind?
Any info would be helpful.

I did buy a regular headset and separate mic but it didn't work. In game sound lasted for less than 30 seconds then quit. Even play a youtube video after that the sound wasn't working. I had to reboot the computer for sound to return.

I tried a headset we had at work and it dropped sound once in game and TS was nothing but a feedback loop which you noticed last night.

Re: Headsets

I went to The Source and picked up an Xtreme Gaming USB headset for $50.
I think this one will work.
I'll let you know.

Re: Headsets

I use the Logitech G933 Artemis Spectrum 7.1 surround.

You can use them usb or wireless.....amazing quality!

Though you get louder volume when wired.

Re: Headsets

The set I bought are just fine. For $50 I can't complain.
I only use them for games and Youtube so they do what I need them to do.

Re: Headsets

I ended up breaking my last headset (tore the attached mic off) and ended up getting Razer Kraken Pro headset; went on with a Condenser single array capsule microphone, to pair with the headset.

Got a scissor arm stand, along with a phantom power-supply as well so I didn't have to mess with gain/broadcast quality.

Would like to get a different headset though, mine are nice..but the comfort level has gone down over the past year with them. Need something cushy, and noise cancelling preferably.

Re: Headsets

These are a little tight on my melon but they do what I need them to do.
And they were only $50.
